Female tosai will go to a lot of changes in next 4-6 years from the time of the purchase. Some female will have beautiful body conformation some will look like blow fish. The body of tosai can tell possibility of its future body.

First, let's look for long body and short body.
Can you tell long or short from the pictures

Body Ratio of tosai is importance when selecting the body.
I divide the fish to 4 parts, A B C and D.
The ratio between A and D is the most importance as the total body.
If it has too much different in ratio between A and D it means too thin of the tail tube or the too wide of the shoulder.

The ratio between C and D is telling you how thin of the tail tube or how weak of the tail joint is going to be in the future.

Female tosai when it carry eggs the A and B section will get wider if the fish did have close ratio between B, C and D it will make tail joint look small.

The sknny tosai can have good body in the future if you know what you are looking for.

But tosai that show the stomach will have less chance to have good body in the future.

Koi "C" and koi "E" have the best ratio( proportion).

Koi "E" the shoulder little too wide at this age but it has thick tail joint. It is little dangerous, it depand on the blood line, some blood line may have a chance to have drop stomach in ithe future but some may not. If the fish had good back bone it may have better chance to have good body.

Overall the koi "C" is the best body for this size............ :D It has good ratio (proportion) and ti has good back bone.

Koi "A" and "D" both have little thin tail joints ;D
Koi "A" the shoulder is little wide and tail section little short ( see distance between a and b ) Koi "D" has better body flow, proportion. It has thiner shoulder and longer body

Koi "C" and "E" ,have better chance to grow jumbo.

Please keep in mind, there are not every fish will grow jumbo it is depending on the bone structure of the fish, the eating habit of the fish, type of koi food, the environment and the blood line.
